Zach Murphy
Zachary Murphy is one of the co-founders of Ninja Nerd and is responsible for preparing, drawing, and presenting the science and medicine lectures. Zach attended Misericordia University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Zach worked at Northampton Community College as a professional tutor in General and Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology and Anatomy & Physiology where he met his best friends: Rob & Kristin Beach, who are also the co-founders of Ninja Nerd. While tutoring Zach realized the impact he was making with tutoring students at the community college but had this insatiable desire to make a difference in a larger and more global way; that’s where Ninja Nerd blossomed into a special platform that has reached a very large number of students with the ultimate desire to make a difference in academic and clinical advancement.
Zach decided he wanted to pursue a career in medicine and help make a difference in the lives of others who struggle with various medical conditions. Zach pursued medicine and graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020 with his masters as a Physician Assistant (PA-C). Zach then pursued a career in intensive care medicine. Zach works in a neuro-intensive care unit and deals with patients with ischemic, hemorrhagic strokes, status epilepticus, brain masses as well as various comorbid medical conditions that complicate their ICU stay. Zach loves every aspect of medicine and science and wants nothing more than to share that love of science and medicine to others around the world as well as help others succeed in their academic and clinical journeys. His personal interests include spending time with his two French bulldogs (Gibbs and McGee) who are his absolute best friends, surfing, swimming, fishing, and of course studying and learning to prepare and spread knowledge in the form of enjoyable and funny videos for Ninja Nerd.
