In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on Acute Ischemic Stroke: Etiology, Pathophysiology, Clinical Features, Diagnostics, and Treatment. This lecture will include detailed information on the causes (etiology) for acute ischemic strokes including embolic, thrombotic and global hypo-perfusion. We will also be discussing the most common clinical features that patients present with along with how an acute ischemic stroke is diagnosed. Finally, we conclude the lecture with the treatment / management of acute ischemic stroke along with indications and contraindications of tPA (tissue plasminogen activator).
